Having spent her life looking after her sickly husband Barry, Edy finds herself widowed and alone. Needing to do something – anything, she starts climbing the stairs of Silver Lake, California. She discovers a group of strangers (all of whom are named Barry) who teach her what life is supposed to be about. The kicker, however, is that Edy is the one who died and she is the ghost in her house not her still-living husband. Anxious to see heaven or "whatever" Edy learns that she will be stuck in Silver Lake until she reaches her heart's desire. Whatever the hell that's supposed to mean?
