Liz’s new editing position involves virtual reality input for schizophrenics. Reluctantly, she gets drawn into a world of playing God, where you can’t help but get involved. Tension mounts by the programmers’ inability to keep up with their patients, who die upon unsuccessful awakening. When she discovers her young patient is an army guinea pig, Liz makes it her mission to save him from the government by somehow getting him out of his virtual existence without killing him or getting caught.
