Little Black Veil is a drag queen romantic comedy musical.

Monster - song from the show performed by Abby Travis

Mourning the death of Cherise, the queen-bee/drag queen momma, our main characters go on a hysterical journey of pride, purpose and love. After a 5 year absence, Billy returns to the world of boas and pumps, which infuriates his macho boyfriend Ramon. Philip, a straight female impersonator, falls in love with Jan, Ramon’s sister, and the two of them, via screaming and screwing, must learn to love outside the lines. And George embraces a mission to honor his fallen friend by saving as many fabulous freaks as he can. All of these stories are intertwined and told by our greek-chorus of Drag Queens, who provide heart, soul, song and camp as a background to this comedy with a size 15 heels, I mean heart.

The music of Abby Travis, cabaret diva extraordinaire, ties the pain, triumphs, and joy all together with show stopping fabulousity. Her comi-tragic lyrics and jazzy/rock music lends perfectly to our over-the-top drag numbers (drama) and glittering spectacle camp (comedy).

Little Black Veil is about waving your freak flag. Being proud of who you are. It’s gay, it’s straight, it’s hip and it’s old news: Everyone of us deserves to be loved for exactly what we are.
